1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Peridot, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, you may not use our service. We may modify these Terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. Description of Service

Peridot is a user research platform that provides:

• Transcript upload and storage
• AI-powered transcription services
• Automated insight generation and analysis
• Natural language search capabilities
• Team collaboration features
• Project management and organization tools

3. Account Registration

To use Peridot, you must:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

You may not share your account, use another user's account, or create multiple accounts to evade restrictions.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start. The trial includes full access to your selected plan's features.

4.2 Paid Plans

• Billing: You will be charged at the start of each billing period
• Subscription: Plans automatically renew unless cancelled
• Changes: You may upgrade or downgrade at any time
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime; access continues until period end
• Refunds: We do not offer refunds except as required by law

4.3 Payment Terms

Payments are processed through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees. We may suspend or terminate service for non-payment.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt our service
• Use our service for illegal activities
• Upload content containing personal data without proper consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission
• Resell or redistribute our service

6. Your Content and Data

6.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to content you upload ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.

6.2 License to Us

You grant us a limited license to use, store, and process Your Content solely to provide our services, including:

• Storing and backing up your transcripts
• Processing content through AI services for analysis
• Displaying content within your workspace
• Enabling collaboration features with your team

6.3 Your Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

• You have all rights necessary to upload Your Content
• Your Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
• You have obtained proper consent for any personal data in Your Content
• Your Content complies with our Acceptable Use Policy

6.4 Data Deletion

If you delete content or close your account, we will delete Your Content within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal compliance.

7. Intellectual Property

Peridot and our service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other content (excluding Your Content), are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our permission.

8. Third-Party Services

Our service integrates with third-party services (OpenAI, AssemblyAI, Stripe, etc.). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features with notice
• Perform maintenance and updates
• Limit or suspend access for violations
• Change pricing with 30 days notice for existing customers

10. Confidentiality

We will treat Your Content as confidential and will not disclose it except as permitted by these Terms or our Privacy Policy, or as required by law.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated insights
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security of data transmission

YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. AI-GENERATED INSIGHTS ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD BE VERIFIED.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access or data breaches
• Errors in AI-generated content or insights

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, Your Content, or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time:

• You: Cancel your subscription through account settings
• Us: Terminate or suspend for violations or non-payment

Upon termination, your access ends immediately. We will retain Your Content for 30 days to allow data export, then delete it.

15. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction]. Any disputes will be resolved through:
